Breastfeeding mamas
Hi mamas - I am two weeks into breastfeeding my infant and she has gained a lot and latches well (at least that’s what I thought) but this morning I noticed two sections right on the sides of my nipple where it looks like raw flesh - like a crater where the hard, more stippled external skin dips and you can see kind like a second layer of the skin. It’s not bleeding. It just looks like raw flesh.
Has anyone had this experience and have any advice? I’m going to breastfeeding clinic on Tuesday but I’ll be feeding my infant until then and I am worried about it worsening.
It’s not necessarily painful, just looks concerning.
