What is it actually like??

Question

My husband and I have been ttc on and off for around 2 years.  I feel bad sometimes because I'm not one of those women staring at baby pictures and wanting a baby so bad it hurts.  I think part of me believes when I have a child my life basically ends. I know that's not true but it's hard for me to picture what being a mom is actually like.
Can those of you with kids tell me what it's actually like to have kids?  And I dont mean "Its so hard but so rewarding they're my whole life blah blah blah"  what I'm curious about is what does a normal day look like for you?  Walk me through an average day in the life of a mom.

It is not easy. The first few months can be very trying. You barely remember how hard they can be though. You are responsible for a little life. Your food is no longer your own half the time. Meal times can be an adventure until you figure out some tricks to work with your child. You think about what they need before what you need. You have to remind yourself to take care of yourself and your partner. If you are like me and my husband sleep is interrupted nightly by our 2.5 year old. They make you laugh and wonder where they come from. They do the weirdest things. They can drive you absolutely nuts all day, but when they snuggle in for some hugs and kisses you just forget about the rest. You may question your sanity some days, but then think you can do this again that you got this parenting thing. Idk if that is what you are looking for? We have our 2.5 year old and 8 weeks along with number 2.

Basically your old life completely ends and a new one starts. You're tired all the time and really cherish moments when you can hear your own thoughts but it's rare. Lots of crying in the shower. This little bean depends totally on you and it's stressful and crazy and emotional but you can't imagined life any other way now.

I have 2 daughters 5 and 1 and I am pregnant with my 3rd. 
We wake up at 7:30 I change the baby and wake up the oldest then she feeds her fish we come to the kitchen and I feed them both and make my coffee after breakfast I clean my house while they find something to do either watch their shows or play with toys at noon I do a simple lunch and lay the little down for her nap and I will either catch up on laundry or be lazy and watch my shows, or hang out with the oldest while we have alone time. Once the baby wakes up I change her and she goes about her day now because it doesn't take very long for them to become independent it is basically making sure she is safe and doesn't eat random stuff off of the floor I make dinner around 4pm and my husband comes home from work they both jump on him for a while we eat dinner together and the baby will go down for nap #2 at 6pm we'll clean up the oldest go back to playing and then before you know it it's bed time and I lay down with both of them we read a story and once they are asleep I sneak back out my husband and I can do whatever we feel like most of the time it's play cards are watch a movie but sometimes we drink and laugh and get to be just us we go to bed around midnight sometimes later. That is just a normal boring day but we also love hiking and bike riding and disc golf and going to the zoo or museums and instead of just you getting dressed you just dress a little person and bring them along too it becomes second nature and it is like they have always been there and it's hard to remember a time without them

It’s tough and insane, but it is worth it don’t get me wrong. Everyone day will vary depending on stay at home mom or working mom. 
But for me, I get up around 5:15 to make sure I can get ready everyday in time to leave to drop him off. Luckily most days he sleeps thru me getting ready, which makes my life so much easier. Other days though he’s awake. Those days I have to decide if I’ve got time for us to shower (which is literally me holding him the entire time) or not. He’s a toddler so mornings with him awake also involve a lot of chasing and telling him “no” and “that’s not yours”. We proceed to take him to “daycare” (my moms house for us). That’s where we eat breakfast and a lot of times he has his first diaper change and gets out of jammies. Leaving there is very hot and cold. Some days he’s totally fine with it. Gives me bye loves, tells me bye and waves me out the door. Other days he’s screaming and crying because I leave. It’s heartbreaking on those days. Pickup varies because my husbands work schedule varies daily. He does a lot of the pickups.  At home, I basically have to share all my meals. He doesn’t make it far into his own before throwing his and making a mess. Toys are constantly everywhere. It’s all just a mess. We cosleep so we don’t really get much us time. Currently, we’re cutting off the paci which has been hot and cold for us so far. Overall, it is a great life. But it’s not easy. You have to find a way to balance this new mom life with remaining who you are. That’s hard. I struggled with that greatly the first few weeks. I either felt extremely selfish and like a horrible mom or like a great mom who had lost who she was. 
What life is going to look like for you, may line us with life for me. It also may look completely different. It’s something that’s so difficult to get an idea of before you’re in the situation because it varies so much from person to person.

There is no such thing as a typical day when u have kids. They make everything unpredictable. The more u try to fight it and regulate or schedule things the worse things get, at least in my experience. You’ll learn things u never thought were important score and realize some things u thought were vital are insignificant. It’s a wild ride I wouldn’t choose to get off if I could change things.
