We made it to our goal!

We weren’t sure if we were going to make it to do maternity photos as I went into preterm labor and have just had complications after complications this pregnancy. We had a goal to make it to 36 weeks so we could deliver our 3rd baby girl here at our local hospital, because anything earlier and we would be shipped downstate at least 3 hours away to the nearest hospital with a NICU unit. Well, we made it to 36 weeks! 36 weeks and 3 days today and honestly, I’m ready for her to come out! I’ve started swelling head to toe, exhausted, hot, and in so much pain. She’s measuring right on point, looking healthy so the doctors aren’t concerned too much if she decides now is the time to make her arrival. We may or may not be looking at ways to start labor off lol daddy is super excited to meet his little girl (this is his first baby, biological, but he raises my two older girls and loves them as his own ❤️) We lost our first baby back in July due to it being ectopic, 2 weeks before our wedding. It ruptured and I was bleeding internally for 2 days, I was in denial that the pain was anything other than growing pains. It got to the point my husband forced me to the car and brought me to the hospital where the er doctor flat out said “you’re dying. You need emergency surgery right now”. This was after my poor efforts of “there must be something you can do to save our baby”. At the time, yes, it was harsh, but I respect honesty and being blunt and I’m glad the doctor was. I went into shock and it took a while for me to grieve and get through the process of losing our baby and being told we were at an even higher risk if we tried again. It tore my husband apart. I’ll never forget on our way home from the hospital, as he’s crying and trying very hard to express how he was feeling, he said “Lyss, I can’t do this again. We just lost our baby, I almost lost you!” We debated putting off our wedding, but I finally decided that we could do it. And even though so many things went wrong (technical and minor) it was the best night, I married my best friend and love of my life. My husband has been amazing through this whole journey, from going to every appointment (or trying to) to offering to drive to the next town for late night cravings, foot rubs, warm baths. He’s just amazing and I couldn’t have done this without him.
