I've had no period/irregular period for 10 years . 4 years ago I had an ultrasound done that showed "polycystic ovaries". I've been on/off birth control and metformin in the last 4 years. Had another ultrasound done 2 years ago which also showed "polycystic ovaries". Was also told my blood workbwas consistent with PCOS. I haven't been taking any meds for about 8 months, no natural period.

I had an ultrasound done last week that only showed one cysts on one ovary and three on the other. My doctor said he would not call this polycystic ovaries. He says my body isn't ovulating so I'm not making enough progesterone.

Does this mean I no longer have PCOS?

I'm so confused. Has this happened to anyone? Thoughts, opinions please!
