Night feedings- yes or no?

Hey mamas!
Now that most of our babes are 9 months old, are you still feeding them at night? Once, or twice? Or have you stopped night feedings completely? How did it go?
Our pediatrician has told us to stop since its basically a habit at this point, but I'm feeling.. Reluctant? I mean, isn't  it normal to feed your baby at night until like 1 year old? This is my first baby so I just don't know

I’m still feeding her likes 2-3 times lol I know some of it is comfort sucking but she def gets the milk. In the morning one side is always full and the other is more empty. I’m going with her flow . I can’t imagine just stopping and what let her cry in misery?? Seeking milk? Nope

On average I’m up with her once or twice at night. I figure whether she’s hungry or just needs comfort, she needs me in some capacity. She dropped one of her daytime feeds, but night time is a bit tougher. Though to be fair, she used to be up three or four times. Just do what you think is best for your little one. She’s adorable!

Mine had been sleeping thru the night for a bit there and now gets up once to eat again.  I feel like I know she can go the whole night so if she wakes up and doesn’t fall back asleep then she must be hungry or had a poop.

I’m still feeding at least once. My daughter still breastfeeds and will do a whole feed around 3-4am, and I think she needs it. I have a friend with a baby around the same age and he naturally weaned himself off nightfeeds when he didnt need it anymore. She said he would wake up and she’d go to feed him and he’d barely eat anything. I think if yourbaby still seems to take a whole feed in the night then they probably need it 🤷‍♀️ I’m looking forward to getting a full night of uninterrupted sleep haha but not going to just stop feeding her because people think she should be able to by this age..

I stopped once I realized she wasn’t waking up because of hunger. She stopped around 6 months and she is now 9. While some may not agree, when she woke, I would wait about 3-5 minutes to see if she would put herself back down and she did. She learned to sleep through the night that way too. It only took about 3 nights of “training”. We did this because she was waking up every 1.5-2 hrs.
BUT you know your baby best. Your doctor isn’t there at night. He/she isn’t with your child day in and day out. Ultimately, you know what’s best.

Some nights he sleeps straight through and sometimes he’s up once. It just depends. And it’s usually just a quick snack and then back to sleep.

My baby generally sleeps through the night, but if he does wake up I feed him. It's usually not a full feed, just a couple of minutes for comfort and he falls back asleep.

I cut my baby off night feeds at 7 months.  She was taking 1-2 full feeds a night.  I gave her sips of water instead of nursing one night and she went right back to sleep and has basically slept the night since. She obviously didn’t need it. At this age it’s not calorically necessary to feed at night unless they aren’t getting enough during the day.

Yup!  I am still feeding multiple times at night.  Breastfeeding is more than just for nourishment so there are many reasons a baby may want to feed.
