I had my son may 21 and I do have gestational diabetes and on insulin. Now they are winging me off. I've been breastfeeding him but its only colostrum. His sugar levels are dropping, not under 35 but they are pretty close. Doctors recommended that i breast feed and give him 30 ml of formula. They said if his levels keep dropping he will have to go to NICU. Of course that's not what we want, and I absolutely hate formula but my breast milk is taking forever to come in to give him more sugar. Now that he's doing both he doesn't stay on my boob long, and I need him to so it'll help my milk come in...I dont know what to do, I wish I didnt have to give the formula...and also we leave the hospital tomorrow.
