Hey there, momma! My first two babies struggled with acid reflux. It turned out that both of them had food sensitivities and once we eliminated those things got way better. However, what helped in the meantime was probiotic drops and gripe water drops. As far as the gurgling sounds go they are perfectly normal. It may sound scary, but according to our pediatrician the likelihood of a baby choking on its own bile is incredibly unlikely. I always made sure their nose was clear of booger’s etc before bed for peace of mind since that is how they breathe when eating. As far as the legs kicking goes... babies are loud and restless sleepers in general. For many babies swaddling helps them to feel more secure and sleep better, but some hate it. I’d try it unless you know baby hates it. Baby could be kicking to help ease the belly discomfort and gas tension. It may help also to massage baby’s belly and do bicycle kicks with their legs throughout the day to help them with this. I hope some of this makes sense and helps!
Choking sounds at night
My 6 week old has reflux and is very gassy. During the day I have it under control and she seems ok even when she naps. It’s only at night that she makes these really scary choking gurgling sounds all the time. She’s sleeping around 2-3hrs a stretch at night but she keeps making these sounds. She also kicks her legs around a lot in her sleep. I don’t know if this is normal or if she’s sleeping well.
Anyone else facing this?
