When is a good time to get your first ultrasound?

I would like to hear the heart beat.

I got mine at 6 and the almost missed the baby. Only could see the sac until the very end. I'd wait until you're about 8-10 weeks that way if they don't see what they are looking for you don't get freaked out.

They usually wait until after 7 weeks as there isn't much to see before that and it makes a lot of mums moms worry. My doctor isn't doing one at all till gender scan at 18 weeks. Boo:(

My OB won’t do one until 9 weeks unless there is something going wrong.

My first appointment isn’t until I’m 10w1d. Will likely have one within the 2 weeks following that.

8 weeks is the normal I think. I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy and was told I would be getting in ultrasound at 6 weeks though.

I was 5 weeks when I got an ultrasound with my first pregnancy. I’m pregnant again, and my doctor isn’t going to have me come in until 8 weeks. Although I would love to see my baby sooner, I’m not mad I have to wait, the embryo starts to look more like a baby around 8 weeks!

Usually they want to wait until 7+ weeks, I think, unless you have some issues.
