I want to lose weight

Hey I’m almost 20 and I’m overweight. I always been chubby and few times I successfully lost 15-20 pounds but they would just come back and I’m sick of it. I want to lose weight and keep it off for good. I was thinking about joining a gym and since I don’t know what or how to use half of the stuff there luckily they have group classes. What’s better for loosing weight cross-fit or kickboxing?
