What does “ring of fire” mean???

It's the sensation you feel as babys head is crowing. I had an epidural with my first....labored for 17+ hours and by the time it was almost time to push the epidural wore off and I felt it. Vomited from the pain, and they had to come re administer the epidural! More power to women who have natural births!! 💪🏾

This post made me remember my first labor and when I was experiencing “ring of fire” I started screaming “I can’t do this it hurts so bad!” (Had an epidural but only worked on half my body) and the delivering OB who was a royal asshole said “fine I’ll go take my lunch break then”. Ended up with an episiotomy bc I couldn’t get babys head past the point of crowing. For me, that’s when I felt the most intense pressure and almost like a burning sensation from all the stretching that goes on down there.

I had my first with no epidural honestly I think the pain was so bad I blocked it out of my memory cus I don’t remember feeling the ring of fire when his head was crowning. But it also only took 3-4 pushes to get him out and I didn’t tear at all only minor scrapes. He was a small baby.

Oh God, it feels exactly like a ring of fire. I think I must have blocked the memory of my daughter crowning out (I suffered a 2nd degree tear with no pain meds) but when I had my son, it was unreal, and I still have a vivid memory of it. I'm very nervous about it this time around, but, it really only lasts a few seconds. I just remember screaming and trying to close my legs. 😫

It’s when baby’s head is crowning. You feel a burning sensation it’s bad for those who take long to push. I have j two natural birth no medication and it hurt for a few seconds but I pushed my kids out quick. My friend took long to push her kids head out and she was in so much pain from what she told me.
