What could this be? Could this be thrush?

Question

I have started having sharp shooting pains in my left breast which I can best describe as being small and located deep behind my nipple and top of breast. I notice it the most while I am nursing.  The pain is not severe (maybe a 3 out of 10) but I was starting to wonder if maybe I had the start of a clogged duct. 
I started googling it, and of course the internet gave me all of the worst case scenarios. One of the less severe things Google suggested was thrush. However, I do not have any other symptoms such as nipple or areola pain.
My 4 week old baby does have white on the back of his tongue but it has been like that for as long as I can remember. Both a lactation consultant and my pediatrician have looked in his mouth in the last week (looking at other things) and neither one of them mentioned any concern about the white. 
What are your guys' thoughts?   If it is thrush who do a contact (the pediatrician, my OBGYN, someone different?)?

I am no doctor so I cannot say for certain, but I’m almost positive that is not thrush, just a new baby’s tongue from milk :) 
The pain you’re feeling is totally normal, especially at the beginning. It will go away with time. Your body is still trying to figure this whole nursing thing out. Keep on, Mama !

That's just from milk. The boob pain is probably a duct, massage in a hot shower and make sure you nurse often on that side and try changing positions to make sure it's getting drained properly

Just looks like milk. My daughter would get the same thing after eating.

My nephew was born oral thrush... his tongue looked like that.

Our daughter had this too. Dr said it’s just the proteins from the milk stuck on the tongue

If you try wiping it off and it doesn't come off or if it does and there is bleeding, then it's thrush. You can use gentian violet and grapefruit seed extract. I suggest Lugol's iodine, but it does not taste good and needs to be diluted in milk because somehow you can't taste it in milk. Gentian violet is pretty good. You would paint the tongue with it with a qtip. I was super careful and it never got all over stuff like some people claim.
Try to stay away from antibiotics. They kill the good and bad bacteria, which weakens a baby's (and everyone's) immune system, making them more susceptible to getting sicker. Also, opening the door for things like thrush. I also read that you can get thrush from antibiotic use or medications or from using bottles. But, the summary of what I found was that they don't actually know how children get thrush. It's an overgrowth of candida though. It isn't life threatening either, if that's what it is.

Looks like it. My baby had it a couple times. Did you ask your pediatrician about it specifically? Keep an eye on it. Thrush on your breast would be itchy on your nipples. It got bad for me and I wanted to scream every time my baby latched. If you start to itch get checked out before it gets bad.

Use a cloth and try to remove it. If it doesn't come off, it's thrush
