Has anyone had the NIPT test done and it be wrong?

I had it done at my doctors office it’s supposed to be over 99% accurate per my doctor I’m just worried I am getting my hopes up.

The NIPT test is a blood test. The way it was explained to me is at a certain part in early pregnancy  the babys dna mixes with the mothers blood. If the blood contains a y chromosome, then you have a boy. If that y chromosome is not detected you are having a girl. 
You are probably thinking about the sneak peek tests. This brand has an at home test that you mail in and a clinical test where they draw blood. If you do not sanitize well enough at home and take the at home test the male dna simply lying around on surfaces could end up in your sample if not handled properly. 
I say dont worry. If you are doing the dr ordered test it will be a blood test and is nearly 100% accurate! Good luck!

I had the NIPT test done at 12 weeks and found the result at 13 weeks. I dont go for my anatomy scan until 22 weeks 5 days and I'm at 21 weeks now. I may ask them to confirm at the anayomy scan, but the old wives tale side effects have matched the sex I was told.

I had amniocentesis done with my second and third child and those are more accurate for genetic disorders and gender this time around I opted to just do the blood test and I’m freaking out that it may be wrong I’m 17wks and haven’t had an ultrasound since 9wks and freaking out that it may be a boy even tho that’s what I wanted lol but test said girl and I’ve already bought clothes up to 9months lol so hopefully it’s still a girl I have a 10month old boy so I would be fully prepared if it was a boy just a lot of wasted money on girl clothes lol
