Can a baby eat too much?
My little one is 15 weeks old. She was 7lb 1oz at birth. She was perfectly average at birth and her weight has remained average throughout. I returned back to work a couple of weeks ago and tried to make sure I had a good supply of breast milk for her, portioned out in bottles ranging from 3.5 - 4.5oz. She weighs about 13lbs now and I read that for a baby her size, she should be getting a little more than 4oz per bottle. So I started making sure I was pumping enough to make 4.5oz bottles. But my mother (who is watching her during the day) said that 4.5oz wasn’t enough. Apparently my daughter gets so upset when feedings are over, because she wants more. So I started making 5oz bottles. That was okay for a few days. But now she seems to want 6oz bottles! I know every baby is different and it’s hard to compare... but does this seem normal? She’s still eating the same amount of times throughout the day. She’s just wanting so much more per feeding. I’m stressing out, because I don’t know if I can keep up with her 😕 I made sure that my mom, or husband, or whoever was feeding her, was using the pace bottle feeding technique. But other than that, I don’t know what to do. If she’s still hungry, shouldn’t I keep feeding her?
