So my boyfriend and I have been together for a year (in two weeks) and it’s pretty serious because we are basically all each other has and it’s been like that for a long time before we got together

And where I live it’s normal to celebrate dating for a year

And it’s normal to give each other gifts and stuff

And We were at a jewellery shop, i was shopping for someone’s birthday gift and I saw some dress rings on sale for $30 and I winked at him and said take note for our one year (we are the sort of couple that jokes around about almost everything)

And I was joking ofc but I think he took it serious cuz he was like “ok I’ll take note that you like big fucking diamonds and send me photos of ones you like later “ and they weren’t diamonds they were like cheap glass or CZ and so I don’t want him to walk into a jewellery shop and say can I have “big fucking diamonds” and for him to see a large price tag and he like wtf is she wanting from me

And I don’t want him to think I was like asking for it, and like I don’t want him to think I was hinting at engagement like I don’t want him to feel like I was trying to pressure him

So should I talk to him about it or just forget about it?

I wanted a ring as a symbol of love and commitment and yes I know “I don’t need a physical symbol” but I want one
