So I’ve known my bf for a little over a year, and recently we had a convo about kids and marriage. We’re not thinking about either of those yet, but we just shared ideas toward it. I eventually want marriage and kids. Due to some experiences/trauma he’s experienced, he feels damaged and doesn’t want either.

I still love and care for him, but hearing this changed my perception of him. I know you can’t change a man, and I won’t try to convince him to want marriage/kids, although he says there’s a slight chance he’d change his mind. What would you do in this situation? I feel like we should just separate but it’s hard.
