Did anybody take Nitrofurantoin for uti third trimester (7 months)

Got prescribed today but scared of taking it

I’ve been on 3 rounds of antibiotics and am now on a daily low dose of nitrofurantoin to keep my bacteria in check and not let it progress to an infection. I asked my doctor a lot of questions but it is safe and certainly safer than getting a UTI or kidney infection.

Just finished mine. Having a UTI is dangerous when pregnant

They wouldn't give it to you if it was unsafe. Take the medication. You do not want a uti to progress to a more dangerous infection because you could go into preterm labour.
