I agree with the other comment. Personally tho, on my tracking apps and such, I marked my periods when I started spotting bc I always got it before a period so I wanted to see if it could track when I would spot too

When your flow actually starts. Say you have two days of spotting brown and then actual blood starts coming out. You mark the first day of your cycle when you actually start bleeding, not when you start spotting brown.
