VBAC or C-Section?

I had a horrible birth experience with my first born. I was 40wks I had a scheduled induction that failed, after two and a half days I ended up having a c-section. My c-section was awful, I’m not sure why and my doctors aren’t sure either.. it could have been a reaction from medication but I couldn’t breathe the entire duration, and there was a complication during it and I honestly wish I could remember what it was (I’d have to look at the surgical note again). It has been over four years since my son was born, I’m due with my second November 5th.. my doctors are considering a VBAC since my c-section was so awful, I’ve heard horror stores about VBACs as well.. so I’m stressed and nervous about what route to go.. I’m completely open to a VBAC or a repeat C-section.. my question is.. what are your experiences with VBAC?

I tired for a VBAC 12 weeks ago after 4 years, got induced at 39 weeks to due to baby not moving as much.... was induced with foley bulb which was a horrible experience but because of the previous c section that was the only to be induced, i laboured for 8 hours but when my contractions started to calm down they had put me on a very low dose of the drip hormone but because of that my cervix started to swell and baby was back to back so sadly had to get taken away for an emcs, it was hard to deal with at the time as I was so upset I wasn’t able to have my baby naturally but as the weeks have gone on am ok but it now... I would defo give a VBAC a try if it doesn’t work then least you tired and the risks really are a very low percent of women. Go for it!

It honestly depends, you could have a bad experience either way. I had a VBAC, forcep delivery and 3rd degree tear. I have been given the option of having a C-section for any future pregnancies because of the tear but I know for my next baby I will continue down the route of VBAC. It really is up to you and what you think is best for you and your baby.

I mean idk how it is to have a c-section but I was reading about vbacs and I'd be so scared to do that. I'd probably get another c-section if I were you just so you dont have complications during delivery.  But that's completely your choice and the doctors choice .. I'm just saying what I would do

I mean honestly, I would just see what happens. 
With my first, I was induced. It was miserable and ended in a csection. Personally I blame the whole induction process. I didn’t want to go through any of that again, so my doctors idea was, if I went into labor on my own, I could attempt a vbac. Since I didn’t want another induction, I would have a csection at 39 weeks if I didn’t go into labor by then. 
Now I’m 35+4 and my doctor has decided that a vbac is a bad idea due to the baby’s size and position on top of dealing with a high risk pregnancy suddenly. So now I’m having a csection at 37+3.

I had to get a c section with my first and I am going to try to do a vbac with my second ( due August 7th). I am choosing to because I don't really want to go through another c-section. You need to talk to your doctor about how successful the hospital/ doctor is with vbac births. Need to be comfortable with your Dr/ midwife. Do your research but only from medical websites not from Wikipedia or talk room like places!! There are horror stories as well as success stories with vbacs just like with C-sections. After you do your research make your decision!!! Also keep in mind you might end up having another c section again if you decide vbac!!!! It's also normal to feel nervous about it!
