Empty empty sac???

Question

I should be about 8w5d pregnant with my first baby. I went today for my nurse visit and she did a quick abdominal ultrasound in her office where a sac showed but no baby. She said this can be normal so she’s sending me for a transvaginal ultrasound at 2:30 today. I’m worried sick, has anyone has a good turnout? I’m praying for a miracle but preparing for the worst. Please send positive thoughts and prayers and any advice.

hope everything goes well. abdominal ultrasounds are not as accurate as transvaginal in early pregnancy. good luck 😊

Happened to me! The  vaginal ultrasound is more spot on in early pregnancy

If you are going by your last menstrual period, you could be off a bit. You may have ovulated later which would make you less than 8w5d, which tells me you are quite early and would require a transvaginal u/s to see your lil bean. Stay positive momma, sending love and prayer, keep us posted.

*Update* my OB nurse called me this morning stating I most likely have a blighted ovum. My HcG is well over 44,000 meaning the ultrasound should have been able to see something. They will recheck my levels and ultrasound again on Monday morning, if nothing progressed I will be scheduled for a D&C. I’m so upset.

Hey guys, just got back from my transvaginal US, they couldn’t tell me anything and wouldn’t let me see any pictures. I was told to follow up with my OB on Monday. I was able to take a picture of the screens when getting dressed..

I’m no doctor so please don’t go on anything I say and wait for your doctor but from what I can see it says that you’re measuring 7 weeks and 5 days by the size of the sac, here is mine at 6 weeks and 2 days. The heartbeat was also detected at this time and this was abdominal. 
I do see in one of your pics what looks like a heart beat rhythm? I wouldn’t know if that is yours or to do with the pregnancy.
