How did you know that he/she was the one?

I’ve always wondered how people knew or felt that the person they are dating was the one that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with! Share your stories please!

I don't think there was any specific moment or reason why I felt he was the one. I just remember thinking early on in our relationship "wow. He's so amazing. If things stay like this, I could seriously see me marrying him". Months and years passed and he stayed amazing. I just felt so... at peace with him. Happy and free to be all of me.

I don’t know if there was a time I realized he was the one. After a month of dating everything was great he was so sweet and kind in every way but I remember thinking did I move on to fast? (After previously getting out of long term relationship a month before that). The day I was thinking about breaking things off because I felt as if I needed time to heal on my own from my previous breakup, he randomly shows up with a teddy bear and flowers. I couldn’t do it, it was just so sweet. Almost 8 yrs later we are still going strong with our baby boy on the way. 💕

I don’t go a day without my SO on my mind he treats me so well and every time I see him or talk to him I feel so loved. I couldn’t imagine my life without him by my side. And when I’m sick or upset he always finds a way to make me feel better.

I just remember thinking ‘wow, I respect him, trust him and adore him’ I had never felt like I wanted to be a better person for anyone else. on top of the fact that he lets me sleep whenever I want 🙌🏼 lol he’s a keeper for me.

Just dont forget that everybody has moments of doubt and asks all the questions of if it's right or not. In the beginning, I wasnt sure if he was the right one for me because he was my first true relationship. I had flings with other people but he was the first one that showed me the same commitment that I was ready to give. And I doubted things and almost broke things off. I made mistakes and we communicated that and forgive each other. That's how things work out

There was never that "a-ha" moment.. it took time, patience, love, kindness, forgiveness, trust, and work. It took being with the person that I can spend every day with, someone I can have fun with and confide in and feel like I'm myself with. And especially having someone with the same interests. No two people are exactly alike and you'll never agree on everything. There'll be arguments and days you feel as if you love them less, but ultimately, they're worth it. You cant imagine not being around them for the rest of your life. And no matter what people say, you've gotta be attracted to them physically and emotionally. You have to connect and carry conversations easily with one another and COMMUNICATE with them. It's pointless if you cant communicate your issues together because then they'll never get resolved
