Baby shower timing?

When is the normal time to have a baby shower? I'm not due until January 6th, and my husband is saying we should do it in October, which seems way too early to me... I feel like it's usually the month before the due date...

Typically it’s a month or so before BUT in your case I’d do early November only because of all the holidays.

I was due Jan 25th and had mine like Oct 20th. For us it worked best because of holidays and other family scheduling

I did mine when I was like 26 weeks. I wanted enough time to get what I still needed and have it all washed and ready. Plus, I also wanted to have the last a couple of weeks to just relax and not have to worry about anything.

I don't think it's so very early. My family is throwing themselves a baby shower for my baby when I'm 28w. Whenever you wanna do it is probably fine. That'll give you more time to get what you didn't get at the shower, organise all the gifts, and even send thank you letters before baby comes

Eh I think any time is fine. My friend isn’t due until end of July and had hers in early May. Just pick a time that works best for your friends and family. I’m due mid November and will be doing mine mid September probably. I wouldn’t want to do it too close to the end in case I am super uncomfortable/bloated/etc or in the off chance I go into early labor. You’ll also want time to organize/ set up/wash all the gifts you get.
