Membrane sweep at 38 weeks

Hey ladies! I am 38 weeks pregnant and had my membrane sweep today. My dr said I was 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced and that he would be surprised if he saw me back in for a regular check up next week. I felt mild cramps for an hour after the sweep but now nothing. I had my bloody show for a week and it ended last Wednesday. All I have been having lately is pressure and discomfort with Braxton Hicks contractions. What have your guyses experiences with membrane sweeps been like and what does the 3 cm and 80% effaced mean? This is my second pregnancy btw!
