Other people kids?

Question

Hubby and I have discussed my possible transition to a SAHM. I might choose to babysit to help bring some money.  How much would you be comfortable paying a SAHM for childcare if you worked full time day hours?  It would be just your child and my own hypothetical.  🤷🏼‍♀️

To care for anyone else’s child, i’d require $15-20 an hour, and I’d also pay that if I also wasn’t a SAHM

I would say minimum $10 per hour but if you live in a major city then prices are higher typically. You could go$15-$20 then.

I paid $35 per day for my daughter to be at an in-home daycare full time. Obviously there were multiple children there though. Nannies or babysitters in my area charge somewhere around $10-15 per hour per child.

It will depend on your area what’s standard. I’d ask in a local moms group what they pay/charge and the ratio of kids. Some charge hourly or weekly.

Depends on the area and cost of living. I would charge more than minimum wage, and as a parent I would expect to pay at least that. It's a job.
