I need some advice/opinions/success stories

OK backstory, my husband and I have been trying for a little over a year and a half. We just recently started to get really serious as we entered into actual infertility treatments with my doctor. I switched doctors in January, apparently I really wasn’t comfortable with a guy being my OBGYN. I thought I was but I really In the end wasn’t lol. My new doctor was absolutely amazing her entire staff was all female they were warm and welcoming and sympathetic and most importantly supportive (my husband is 24, and I’m 23. We’ve been having a hard time finding support through doctors. I’m not entirely sure why.) So she said she wanted to wait for my next period which was supposed to come at the end of January, she wanted me to have 12 different blood tests run, she wanted me to get the HSG, and she wanted me to get a few different ultrasounds and start Clomid.

We were excited to finally start going somewhere with trying, outside of just tracking and obviously having sex. She also wanted To have my husband get tested, but then my period ever came in January, didn’t come in February, and right before she was going to prescribe me a progesterone in March, my period came. I was sick as a dog with the flu sickest I’ve ever been, So I opted to wait and try the next cycle, but then I didn’t get another cycle until May 16. When I called my doctors office a week before they said to come on in because they were going to do an ultrasound and a few other inspections to make sure that I wasn’t pregnant because I hadn’t taken a test in over two weeks. When I got there they sat me down and told me that my Doctor Who I had only seen once at this point, found out she has stage III leukemia (not sure what kind I think they said it was a skin cancer), and is 4 1/2 months pregnant. They obviously explained she wouldn’t be coming back (for a long time) but they said I would be assigned to a new doctor, which was totally fine I wanted her to be happy and healthy she was happy to be pregnant but unhealthy and angry that she had cancer as most women I am assuming in her position would be. I went in and they said everything looks great they could see my lining, so they prescribed progesterone, but because I was having period Like cramps to where I felt like my period is going to start any minute they told me to hold off for at least a week. Well exactly one week after my doctors appointment my period came, I went in three days later and had the 12 vials of blood drawn, I had the ultrasound done two days after that, the HSG done the following day (was the most painful and the doctor I had totally ripped the first catheter AND balloon out. 🙄🙄🙄)

They started me on clomid the day I got my ultrasound, however at this point I had seen four different people between the week before my period and the HSG, no one seemed to be able to give me straight answers on what to expect with the Clomid, and what to expect after and during the HSG. I ended Clomid last week Friday and I’m about to go into my fertile window now as my OPK‘s are starting to get darker. The trouble I’m having as I’m having period like cramps, accompanied with weird Nausea. I called the on-call doctor and she said that that can be normal and that I should just be careful and wait it out and if it continues or gets worse to call back and come in.

So I guess my questions are, what did you experience on clomid? Were you successful? Did you cry a lot/have bad mood swings/ hot flashes/ cramping. Did you also have an HSG done? How did that effect your first month/clomid cycle?

Thanks for reading if you did, and sorry for the long rant. I’m currently looking for a new doctor but I’m not sure what to expect now that I’m about to ovulate.
