I am 8 weeks into my maternity leave (5 weeks were paid) and I am expected to be back at work in 4. I am NOT ready to go back. I know 12 weeks is the American standard for maternity leave, but I simply cannot bare the thought of leaving my little one at daycare already. I want to quit. My job is super stressful and I have been thinking about quitting even before I got pregnant.

My question to you guys:

Have any of you quit during maternity leave? And if you have, were there any financial repercussions, like paying back maternity leave or health insurance premium for the time you were on leave? I know some companies do this...
