How did you tell your parents you want to raise your child your way?

I’m so confused as to how I should let my mom know that my husband and I want to raise our child our way ..without hurting her feelings?im 25 and she still believes that I’m too young to raise a child..but it is mine?😩help!? A little advice please ..❤️

You say "Mom, I love you, but my husband and I are making our own family now. We appreciate that we know we can com ask you for advice when we feel like we need it. But we also need to do what is right for our family." And they you and your husband fallow through, and do what works for you guys. And you stand on your own feet 😀

I’m 20 married already have owned a house and am pregnant. I think you are plenty mature to raise your own baby. If there is unwanted advice just nod or laugh it off but don’t really use the advice.

I always talk to our families very matter of factly, like nothing is up for discussion. I inform them of what I’m doing if they ask, I don’t ask for their opinion nor do I make it seem like I’m unsure. Even if I am unsure I save it for my mom friends, bc honestly anytime I do ask my mom advice she’s useless, she doesn’t remember anything about raising us when we were small. My husbands mom is pushy sometimes but I am well researched and I very kindly say no they don’t say to do that anymore bc xyz...even if she still likes her way she can’t argue with doctors and science so she doesn’t usually fight me too much.

Thank God I never had to go through this. But if you live under her roof it is hard because then you are under her rules. But if you're on your own you just reassure her you love her but you are the parents and you wanna figure things out on your own. She can tell you advice, nothing wrong with that. But there needs to be a line.
