Anyone else been mistaken for pregnant?

Katie • Mama of two littles and a French bulldog 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐶❤️

I am a teacher and went back to work for the last two days of school. I am now 9 weeks postpartum and am struggling big time with my pregnancy weight gain! I thought I would have lost more by now, and this situation surely didn’t help!

While at work, one of the custodians asked me how the baby was doing. There was a new custodian working with her, and he asked me how many months. I said “2 months” happily talking about my baby. He pointed to my belly and said “really?! Looks big for only two months!” He thought I was pregnant. Not his fault, but still a fairly rude comment regardless.

I was really active prepregnancy and was able to maintain my weight with no issues. Now I am really struggling to get the weight off.

This is me 6 weeks pregnant (left) and 6 weeks postpartum (right).

I am SO grateful that my body built a life and am amazed daily at the strength it takes for all mamas to go through this! I do not want to sound ungrateful or vain, but it did take a toll on my confidence when he commented on my appearance. I know it may seem silly, but it has been on my mind a lot since it happened.
