Cry-it-out?

Question

Anyone else trying Cry-it-out? How long to you let them cry? Our little one is not sleeping and just cries if we put him down even if he’s fed and changed and all his physical needs are met. We have no other option right now but to let him cry himself to sleep. Even if we rock him to sleep, as soon as we put him back in his crib, he flips onto his stomach and starts crying. I hate listening to him cry, but we can’t hold him all night.

I did!! I started with pop ins where you don’t pick them up and stopped pretty quick because it just made her more mad. Teaching her to self sooth is such a good thing!! She is so much happier and sleeps 11-12 hrs a night! My mom said they only went it when they cried SUPER hard. I never experienced that really but she did get pretty mad. She cried 40 min the first night then 20 min then 8 and then 2. We did have a random night with 25 min but that was my fault because I went in changed her into cooler pajamas the night before. Now I set her down in her crib awake and she doesn’t cry at all and rolls around a bit and goes to sleep!

We went in every ten minutes to check and reassure her. Took about 30min and she slept sooo well ! First night was very hard on me not her lmao !! She’s been sleeping 10-12 hours every night now !! It’s worth it !!

We did full extinction, as long as it took. The first night was about 40 minutes, though there have also been a few nights of intermittent crying that lasted longer.
