I personally believe whenever your first “this can’t work, im seriously considering divorce” statement is in your head, it’s already over

If watching a romantic movie, hearing a love song, or seeing a happy couple brings you sadness because you think "that'll never be us", it's time. My husband was horrible to me and seeing other people happy in love made me feel depressed knowing it'd never be us. Now I'm with a man who makes me feel like I'm in a movie and now we're the couple people look at and see love. If it's the right won you won't ever question it.

Honestly, you just know. Mine was like an epiphany. Together 7 years, married only two months. I just looked at him one day and thought to myself "yeah, I'm out." I left that night and told him for months to either get help for his alcoholism or I was done. He thought I was joking, I had him served a few months later.

When you've tried everything and it doesn't get better. If you can walk away knowing you gave it 100% then okay. One day after years of being unhappy and counseling not working I asked him if he still loved me and it just dawned on me that if I flipped that question around my answer was no. So I left.

I was absolutely miserable and felt so irritable around him. I finally saw myself without him. My dislike was turning into hate and I didn’t ever want it to get to hate.

I absolutely could not see a future with him, I couldn't imagine any kind of growth, I couldn't see my dreams at all. On top of that I didn't love him, I didn't even like him as a friend. I knew I didn't want to be married anymore, but it didn't come to divorce until he overstepped into abuse.
