**Please Read all MOMS ** so here I am another night watching my son sleep and not at all sleepy. Any mom will tell you we can’t wait to go to bed and sometimes we get there and can’t sleep 🤦‍♀️

Today I caught up with a college roommate of mine. Best girl ever such a sweetheart and we have some fun and laughs back then. 👯‍♀️ She is also incredibly intelligent 🤓. When I told her I was was a single momma her first response to me was , “I’m sorry,”

I understand because it is challenging and we all know that. Not enough time, not enough money, not enough sleep, too much isolation at times, the list goes on. 😨 When I started this journey I didn’t realize how I was going to do this because this path was CHOSEN for me.

I was heartbroken and in shock. There were times when I would see husband or fathers with their children being so loving or families together who looked so happy and the wife with a beautiful ring and I was alone with my baby and...no lies it hurt sometimes.

Then I realized something... motherhood regardless of marriage or not has it challenges and some challenges are sometimes the same.

My married friends from high school complain that their husbands are not on the same page in how they want to raise their kids, they don’t help at all or not enough, or the one I hear a lot is that fathers just don’t get it. 🤯 What it takes to be a full time hands on parent everyday all day.....Sounds a lot like some challenges some single mothers have as well without partners.

There are also things as single mothers that we don’t have to deal with.. I don’t have to have a father around all the time telling me how to raise our son. I set the standards. I don’t have to worry if something isn’t going to be taken care of because I know I have it handled. 👍 Also after two years of doing this on my own, I know I am a bada** 💪🏼 for being so strong and becoming the woman I am becoming because of my son and what we went through.

It seems very common when I tell mothers who are in a relationship of any sort that I’m a single mom... they immediately say they are sorry. I am NOT upset with my roommate or anyone for apologizing that shows they CARE. Is just that the apology is just NOT necessary- being a mother is CHALLENGING no matter which way you cut it. Married Single Divorced being a mother is HARD.

There so many single moms out there and some CHOSE their path and some DIDN’T- but at the end of the day you don’t need to be sorry -

I am not sorry - I’m living my best life with my dream come true son. 🤗 Yes it’s not the way I imagined it .... it’s so much better

Let’s celebrate 🎊 🎉I didn’t marry a man who didn’t deserve me or my son and he left early enough that both my son and I wouldn’t know the difference. We been on our own since the beginning and I’m grateful and smile everyday. 😄

Don’t be sorry to a single momma - or any momma for that matter-praise her for being WONDER WOMAN!! 🦸‍♀️
