I got put on the birth control shot and it’s only been 16 days but I’ve been experiencing bad side effect already. I’m 16 and I’m new to the whole birth control scene but I don’t know what to do. I’ve been super nauseous lately and I’ve also been cramping. My main concern is the fact that I’ve been having major mood swings. With my age and these side effects, it makes my life 10x more complicated. It was a battle getting my mom to put my on birth control and we couldn’t afford the implant in my arm, so I don’t know what to do. I’m tired of this messing with my head and the side effects/stories I’ve seen just isn’t in my best interest anymore. I know I have to tell my doctor during my next appointment but wouldn’t it be hard to switch methods considering these long term affects. I’ve only had one shot but the side effects I’ve heard of just scare me. Another few side effects I’ve been dealing with is vaginal dryness and lack of interest in sex. I know I’m young but if I’m going to have sex I want to do it safely and without restrictions like this.
