Having sex for the first time? (Read before voting)

Question

When you have sex with a new partner, do you check for STDs before sleeping together? 
I’m a virgin so have no previous experience 😂 I know in movies / TV that people will just sleep together when the mood takes them, but I also know that reality isn’t like that. 
So, in real life:
Would you actively get an STD check for yourself and your new partner so you both have peace of mind? Or would you trust each other’s word about previous partners? Or just use condoms (knowing that some STDs are  passed on by skin-to-skin contact)? How many of you just hope for the best when you have sex with someone?!

It can be spontaneous so in reality I would usually use condoms the first times and ASAP both get sti tests before ditching the condoms

Condoms first then as you get to know each other, talk about past parters/how many (it does only take 1 though) and would talk about getting tested before not using a condom like if you just wanted to or start trying for a baby as you got more serious.

My husband and I are started dating in high school and we had sex spontaneously the first time but we used a condom. After that I asked him to go to planned parenthood and get tested, which he did, and that I would get tested too 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was a virgin but he wasn’t.

We used condoms at first, but when we chose to be exclusive, we discussed our health status as we knew them to be and got tested just to be sure. At that point, we were both comfortable with no barrier and IUD as birth control.

Condoms and ask. If I’m having sexual with the person then I def trust them enough that I’ll take their word for it. Personally I test after every new partner as well. 
But like, the trust is important. I once had a guy ask me and I told him that yeah I was clean and had been tested abt a month ago, and he demanded to see the paper test results from the doctor and like wtf! First of all my doc calls me with those results, second of all wtf it’s soooo not okay to demand that with no reason like why would I lie abt that, and low key feels like he was implying that I was some kind of slut. I straight up told him to leave and never spoke to him again.

Condoms but in a committed relationship you should also talk about previous sexual encounters.

I don’t have a lot of experience with this because I’ve only ever been with my husband, but he’d had past sexual partners when we got together.
Even though he’d been tested in the last year, I asked him to get tested before we did anything, so he did and we were able to go into our relationship knowing neither of us had any STDs. It worked for us, but I know some people are perfectly content just using condoms every time all the time ☺️

Couldnt hurt to ask them if they've had sex before when was the last time they was checked nd could they show you the paperwork I'm straightforward so I would say those things. Dont be scared to ask questions and be blunt because men arent scared to ask for some sex.
