New Mom in need of help!

Kristen

Hi all, I have a 4 day old and am just at a loss and feeling like I am failing. At the hospital they said she wasn’t getting enough so I was pumping and syringe feeding. Now that we are home I am super engorged and my nipples are on fire. When we left the hospital the pediatrician there said we could feed her every 3 hours if she didn’t show signs sooner, but that just seems like way too long to go without feeding her. I don’t know though when I feed her now if she’s getting enough or not. She has a pee and poop with every feed. And then she does seem happy for 3 hours, but I just don’t know. Should I keep topping her off with the syringe? Wait until we see our pediatrician tomorrow before continuing to pump and top her off? Keep pumping and breastfeeding. I’m so afraid of starving her. She also has now started to spit up a little after her feeds. Does this mean there is too much food in her belly? If she spits up does she then need more? I am at a loss, and feeling very inadequate.
