Can contractions become irregular????

I was getting contractions consistently 6-7 minutes apart now they seem to be getting 8 minutes apart or jumping all over the place. Can it still be regular contractions?

Yes they can. My real labor contractions with my last baby never got 5 min apart until 2 hours before he was born. They jumped from 3-5-7-12 min apart for hours and I was definitely in labor
