What price should I stick to when putting a crib on a baby registry?

If your expecting the crib to be a gift i would find the cheapest one you like and add it. 
Ive literally gotten all the *expensive* stuff of my own lists. All thats left is baby bath stuff, diapers, wipes and clothes and a few other things.  You should never put something that you cant afford to buy on your list.

I registered for exactly what I want, regardless of price. Either people will pay for the expensive item, go in on it as a group, or they won't buy it but I can use the "complete registry" discount to purchase myself.

I'd say that I would save that for something you buy and put other stuff on your registry that might be more affordable for people and if your like mom or dad in laws or really close family want to buy you something big than you can tell them the crib you want

I think it depends largely on whether you have friends/family who are likely to go in together on bigger items. My partner’s family is huge and I know a lot of aunts and cousins like to buy larger group items, so I didn’t feel bad including a couple larger things, but even my larger items were more in the $200 range. I think different families and social circles have different norms and you should consider that when deciding what to include, and make sure you include plenty of lower priced items as well.

I went with a range of prices. Baby soap for $4 up to $250 for a swing. Our parents are getting us the crib which is $567 (4 in 1 convertible crib) which is the most expensive thing. That way people can get what fits their budget. A couple small things, one big thing, whatever works.
