Period returned - when do you count start day?

Question

Baby turns 7 months on the 7th. I sometimes will have small spotting for 1-2 day and then more of a flow. Would you count start day as when the spotting showed up? Or more substantial flow? Had spotting since Saturday but today feels more typical of a period. Thanks.

Red period blood is day 1. Anything brown or spotting leading up to period is not considered actual flow

I would count from spotting but I don’t think it really matters either way.
