Is it normal to not have an ultrasound until 18 weeks?

I am only 8 weeks, but when i called my ob they said that they do regular appointments but won't do an ultrasound until 18 weeks.

Are you not doing the 12 week genetic testing? Usually I have a dating scan, the 12 week scan the anatomy at 20 weeks and one at like 30 something g weeks for the position and amniotic fluid. 
I'm 13 weeks and already had 3 done

Yes, it’s normal.. Most doctors only do one ultrasound per trimester, unless they have found a problem early on in your pregnancy or if you’ve had unsuccessful pregnancies before.. I had a miscarriage before this pregnancy & I’ll be having my 3rd ultrasound next week.. & I’m 18 weeks & 4 days..

I get one scan the whole pregnancy at 20 weeks to check anatomy

Depends. My first scan was at 10weeks but my sisters first scan was at 15ish weeks. The lady told her they just didn’t have any openings

The one I work for does the same. I’d say normal. Just how that office does it.
