Telling the ex you're pregnant?

I have a daughter with my ex boyfriend (she is currently 4) we split up before she was 2. The man I am dating now and I are expecting a child. Everyone is saying I have to tell my daughters dad I'm pregnant but I dont see why? I dont think it's his business? Should I tell him or just let him see a belly eventually? Or my daughter will break the news I'm sure.

I’d think about how I would feel if it was the other way around. I would probably want to know if my ex was having a kid with someone else ONLY if I already had a kid with my ex because I would want my kid to have some sort of relationship with their sibling as well as me, if it was allowed and everyone was on good terms. They are family after all and if your ex has visiting rights and is visiting the kid you have with him and your kid is visiting him then yeah, I kind of think it should be mentioned. 
I don’t think you need to sit him down and tell him every detail but just mention that your child is going to have a sibling.

If it was me I'd think what I would like to happen if it was the other way around if you don't feel like you'd be bothered about finding out or not if he was expecting with his partner than that's cool but if you feel like you'd feel a little hurt if he didn't tell you and you heard it through the grape vine then I'd consider that and tell him😊

I haven’t told my ex I’m pregnant and I don’t really care to.  I’m sure he’ll figure it out eventually if he hasn’t already.  If he asks me questions about it I’ll be very clear that my pregnancy and child are none of his business.  #healthyboundaries

We don’t tell my husbands ex I’m pregnant. Our lives are none of her business. We told his son when he joined us for the summer. But that’s a conversation for him. It does not involve the ex.

I agree that it is none of his business but your daughter is his business.  The new baby will change things for her and she will talk to him about it. The more he knows the better he can support her through the changes, excitement and fear.  My ex and his wife just had a baby they let me know as soon as they were going to tell our daughter. That way I was prepared for the questions and I could support her.  This is obviously a different way to look at it and I’m not trying to say it is the “right” way. Do what feels right in your gut, he will find out eventually anyways.

IN my opinion I don't think it's any of his business it has nothing to do with him ... He's not the father nor the one that's going to be supporting the baby so nope I don't see why you would have to tell him he's your ex
