If you are a SAHM should you be solely responsible for household chores and why?

Your full time job is taking care of the kids by yourself the same hours as he’s at work. His full time job is work. Both should be responsible for upkeeping the house that you all live in!

It's a 50/50 in pur household. I mean.. I do own my own company and work 40 hour weeks, on top of being a parent. But my husband works a full time job as well. He still helps by doing his own laundry, taking trash out when needed, playing ,changing, feeding our daughter.  Cleans after himself.  After pur daughter. Etc etc. And that's on top of cooking for us once a week. And letting me sleep in on weekends.

I do what I can which is about everything on the daily. Times when I’m sick or just feeling overwhelmed my husband is more than happy to do whatever he can. We have a situation where he works 7 days a week 47 weeks a year and most days are at least 10 hours. He wants to help more,  it can’t most days. In the end, I think that if you feel like there are things that are just too much for you to do alone asking for help should be welcomed and not punished. Being a SAHM is a very busy demanding *job*

I do mostly everything. My husband does some things like mow the lawn, take out the trash, changes the cat litter, cleans up dinner or after our daughter. That’s really it though. He does little things here and there if I ask him to, but he works 6-7 days a week (usually 7) and typically 11 or 12 hour days (except weekends which is usually 6-7 hours) So I feel bad even asking him. He is always exhausted when he gets home and takes the time to spend with our daughter. So I guess to answer the question, it depends on the situation and what your happy/comfortable doing.

I do most of the cleaning and housework, but my husband is always happy to help if needed. I want him to spend time with the kids when he’s home, so generally if he’s home and the kids are awake, he’s hanging out with them while I clean. He helps if needed after they go to bed
