Moses baskets; are they worth it?

I thought of using one for travel instead of having to haul around a giant car seat/carrier. 
Does it seem like a good idea?

I don't understand what you mean. A car seat isn't even in the same category as a Moses basket or bassinet. One is meant for vehicle travel and the other for sleep. Car seats should never be used for sleep outside of vehicle travel.

Moses baskets are the default here in the uk for sleeping. They are not made for carrying the baby around. The handle are to move only the basket around and not strong enough for baby.

I will be trying a Moses basket as my bassinet and will also travel or bring it along if baby likes it! We got our basket and stand from design dua and I love it!

How would you be using it? Just as a place for baby to sleep in when staying somewhere else? I’m not following how it would replace the car seat/carrier.
