Me and my SO have done it before I enjoy it so much and I know that he does as well but after a while it starts to hurt. Is there anything that I can do to help with the pain?

Please don't use relaxing/ numbing products for anal! If you are in pain, that is your body signaling that something is wrong, and it is really important that you can feel that signal! If you can't, you can do more damage, such as tearing.

Maybe try a different position the only time I really have any type of anal is when I’m on my period I’ve found the most comfortable and enjoyable way is when you lay on your side and he lays behind you on his side.. that’s the most comfortable way for me

I don’t really enjoy it but I found something at a sex shop that made it not hurt so much! It was an anal relaxant and also some lube

Look up lube launchers on Amazon and lube up. They're like $10 for two and they help with keeping things slick ;)

Water based lubricants help! Keeping it lubricated is extremely important. And honestly if it's lubricated correctly it doesn't hurt at all
