Okay - so my husband and I really want to know the gender of our baby before the 4th of July so we can announce to our two families at the SAME time.

BUT! Our Dr. office refuses to do anatomy scans earlier than 20 weeks (which would be July 19 for us) and I have been told that the blood test will cost us $1000 since I’m not high risk or over 35. (chromosomal test) So they don’t even want to offer it to us. And we obviously won’t pay that either.

A girl I know is going to the same office and had hers done, it cost her nothing more than the office visit! (Difference in insurance I’m sure) Another girl, same office, told me she could’ve gotten it done for $200 when she was pregnant. Both under 35 and not high risk!

How in the heck is it so different from patient to patient?!

First time mom here, so I have no idea what protocol is for this test.

How did you get yours??

Are there private clinics that offer it?
