Has anyone been effaced but no dilation and a couple days later go into labor?

I am not dilated but they said I was 80% efafced.. I'm 38+4 can I go into labor anyday even tho I'm not dilated?

My midwife and obgyn doesn’t even bother to check for dialation before the overdue control, because it doesn’t tell then anything unless you are in labor. You can go weeks being a little dilated, and you can go from 0-10cm within hours.

I was 80% effaced and 1cm dilated on a Friday. I had him on a Tuesday.

I was 80% effaced and 1/2 cm dilated a week ago and nothing yet (37 +2)

I was effaced and not dilated at 38+5, at 39+3 my water broke, I was 2 cm.  Got to the hospital about 8 hours after my water broke and was a 3... went from 3-10 in 6 hours.  Anything can happen.
