TTC 1st cycle with clomid

I took clomid last month starting on day 3 of my cycle. I took it for 5 days as prescribed. My husband and I had sex every other day starting day 10 like we were told to do. My last cycle was 05/01/19 today I went to a doctor’s appointment because I’m sick with a cold. They tested me when I said my ellos is 10 days late. I knew it would be too early which is why I haven’t tested. It was negative. My nurse at my OBGYN said to retest on Monday and if it’s still negative, they will give me medicine to make my period start. I’m trying to stay positive because I’ve had some pregnancy symptoms and nothing that feels like a period is coming. I’m always every 28-30 days so this is not normal. Has anyone experienced this before? I could use encouragement and prayers.
