Foundation sitting on top of skin

Question

I have dry skin even though I moisturize every day. I also have acne scars and some pimples. When I put my foundation on even in a thin layer it looks cakey and sits on top of my skin and stands out and looks gross. Even with tinted moisturizer (which doesn't cover my scars either) I look so gross! I need tips! I have tried primer and setting spray too and it doesn't help! I use a flat top brush to put my foundation on.

I have eczema and so my face is also super dry and was pretty flakey. I started using H2O skindrink by pixi and my skin finally feels moisturized and my makeup has been blending in way better. Maybe a better moisturizer is what you need. I also find a blender works better than a brush for foundation for me.

If you’re using a moisturizing primer that could be the problem. Some don’t mix well with foundation you have to look at your ingredients. And exfoliate once a week and use a good moisturizer everyday. I really like Clinique smart moisturizer.

I used to have this problem also, I exfoliate before doing my makeup the Clean & Clear Daily exfoliate is a good one. And a small amount of moisturizer so it doesn’t get oily once it’s dry go in with a primer ,damp beauty blender, try a dewy foundation for dry skin or matte for oily 😬

Definitely try using a damp blending sponge, I used to have this problem too. The sponge helps the foundation blend into the skin instead of sitting on top.

Have you tried exfoliating your skin? If not try that then use moisturizer, primer finally foundation.

I use a flat brush to apply my foundation and then I pat it into my skin with a damp beauty sponge. I used to have the same problem and this is what helped me!

That happens to me but because my skin is dry. I found out I have psoriasis on my face. 
If you use make up daily, maybe let your skin rest a few days.

Maybe also after you moisturize use a primer! And invest in a sponge to apply foundation real techniques has great affordable ones you get 2 for 10$ or you can just get the 1 for 5$ even morphe has a good one too it’s only 8$! It could also be your foundation..
