What birth control works for you?

Question

I'm very sensitive to hormones and naturally have very heavy & painful periods. I'm currently thinking about my options in terms of birth control for once I have this baby. 
I've tried:
The Shot - bled for 6 months and was mentally a mess
The pill - Had morning sickness and overall felt shitty
My doctor suggested the Mirena Iud, have any of you tried it? How was it?

I have the Kyleena IUD, which is from the same company as the Mirena but has fewer hormones. I love it because I never need to worry about taking it and because it's made my horrendous cramping go away. I've had it for about 6 months now and I can tell my bleeding is getting a bit lighter as well. J highly recommend an IUD to anyone considering it, especially if you've tried other forms of BC and they didn't work.

I have Liletta iud (same as mirena, different manufacturer) for six months now and my periods are very light. I use one or two regular tampons a day on my periods. They’re still a bit long (7-10 days compared to 5 days naturally) but I can’t complain too much. At least I’m not changing a super plus 7 times a day and pooping 3 800mg ibuprofens a day too. I’m sure you know the drill since you have heavy, painful periods too. I have minimal cramping and spotting every now and then, usually a few days before my period. My period still comes every month but I’m sure it will be gone soon. I’m not pregnant so it definitely works lol. I like it a lot so far and if all goes well the next 4.5 years, I’ll keep getting iuds till menopause lol.

If you don't mind me asking what pill did you try? Combination or mini pill?
I am on the mini pill and i have been having a pretty decent time with it. The first month of being on it i did have some headaches but it went away and the first 3 months i noticed spotting between periods which is normal and that stopped as well. Besides all that it has worked great for me.
