He killed his dead was it justified to you?

I posted the story straight from the news app! This is suck a sad case because I’ve went Thur a domestic violence relationship I’ve always had a legal gun of some kind and I’m totally for defending yourself but idk why I feel like this could’ve went differently I’m iffy about him killing his dad but I also want to vouch for him because he might have really been scared for his life! Poor baby either way the whole situation is just sad🥺☹️

From just this, no, it doesn’t seem justified. But if his father had a history of a lot of violence and he’d been in these situations before, I think so.

So he shot his dad once then another two times to make sure he’s dead? And he took two guns just in case one of them didn’t work? Yeah nah mate sounds like he was planning on killing his dad, not like he acted out of fear. Scared or not he could’ve still used the phone in his dad’s room to ring the police and stay in there until they arrived and possibly use the guns to injure his dad if he broke down the door or something. Not go out and shoot him like there’s no tomorrow 🙄

This was in no way justified.  He was locked away safe. He then went after  him, shot him..... was told to stop(i assume the guy wasnt being aggressive  in the least  if hes begging to have him stop) then he shot  2 more times. That's  2nd degree murder . Not self defense.

I don’t think it’s justified. He planned this out. He grabbed two guns and always had the intent of shooting him. He could have called from the home phone like the police said. He could have been scared. I’m not denying that. However if he was that big of a threat he could have found a way out of that room. Your average room has a window. Jumping out a window outweighs beats being beaten within an inch of your life if this is what the guy thought would happen.

Having two guns I can excuse, but the second they said he (the teen) opened the door, then it changes the whole narrative. He should have waited in there for an officer to come. If his dad had burst through the bedroom door I could understand it being self defense, but he willingly opened the door and then fired multiple times.

We dont know his past. If he has been physically abused by his father his whole life then I can see how he would be scared more than anyone else in this situation. If he wasn't abused and they didn't have a history of abuse then he over exaggerated and should have just called 911 instead of opening the door to murder his father.

That's not self defense at all, he was locked in a room, with two guns and a phone which he could have used to call police. Instead he chose to open the door and shoot his father. After the first shot he admits that his father backed away, he then shot him 2 more times anyways. That's not self defense, that's murder. Even if the father had a history of abusive behavior, in that moment he wasn't in immediate danger (he was behind a locked door, and then after he opened the door and shot his father, his father was backing away and injured). This is why people shouldn't have such easy access to guns. Gun control is a good thing folks.

I feel like we need a lot more info to give a proper answer. Has the dad been arrested before / had the cops called on him for being abusive? Because I could see why the son would see no other way out if the cops had already been called in the past and nothing changed.

The fact he opened the door to shoot is fishy. I was always taught to barricade myself in a room, call 911, and have my gun trained on the door. Once they come through the door, defend yourself.
