Looking to relocate to STL (from rural IL) for several reasons but mainly because my husband and I have jobs that would pay more in that area compared to where we are now. We are also eager to raise a family in the suburbs of STL where our kids would have more opportunities compared to where we are now. However our families don’t want us to move and are trying to convince us that even though we will make more, it won’t pay off because the cost of living will be much higher. But my thinking is...aren’t MO taxes lower, gas prices lower, ect? So my questions is, would a $100,000 household income be comfortable for a family in this area?? Thanks in advance!
