Why do you pee after sex?

I’ve never heard about it before but see lots of people on this app talking about it. Is is something you must do after every time?

To prevent a uti. The urethra and vaginal opening are in close proximity which can result in bacteria being pushed into the urethra during sex which can cause a uti. Peeing after sex can flush out that bacteria.
