Should I go to the last NST?

Shay

Sorry for the long post!!

So let me start by saying, I have been seen weekly since 28 weeks and have had weekly NSTs for quite some time now (sometimes twice weekly appts for ultrasounds.) I am honestly sick and tired of all of the appointments and just ready to call it quits.

My daughter was born prematurely at 24 weeks for no reason. So even though my son has measured perfectly and looks perfect constantly, I’m still back in the office a week later for another checkup and the Maternal Fetal Specialist once a month to check his growth.

I had an ultrasound Friday and figured we were good to go for my induction on Wednesday at 6am.

Welp, my OB says, “Well, let’s just see you back in the office on Monday for an NST to make sure you’re not contracting.”

I am not contracting. I have had the most textbook pregnancy so far honestly. My OB won’t even be in that office that day anyway. I normally see her on Wednesday’s because she is in the office closest to my house.

So, the nurse told the lady that does the scheduling to put me down for Monday whenever because the nurses will be there to hook me up and then just need a quick appointment with the nurse practitioner to look over it real quick and send me on my way.

Well, the lady at scheduling said there were NO morning appointments available to see the practioner and the only thing she could do is get me in on Tuesday morning at 8am with some lady I had never even heard of.

Im wondering if I really even need to go to this appointment when I get induced 22 hours later.

Sometimes I feel like some of these appointments are her trying to juice as much money out of me as possible.

I feel fine, not contracting at all. So, do I really need to go to this last NST? I don’t want to waste the gas to drive 40 minutes to be hooked up for a little bit and then see another practitioner only to be told that I’m not contracting and leave.

I’m trying to save all the money I can since my husband will be off work for a few days with me so wasting gas isn’t really something I want to do.
